It is estimated that 30 million Americans have struggled with eating disorders at some point over their lifetime, and unfortunately, rates continue to rise.Adolescents and young adults are an especially at-risk population for developing eating disorders, so prevention and treatment among this vulnerable population is key. Answers do exist, and help is available and accessible.

Dr. Fridy completed a 3-year post-doctoral fellowship to receive specialized training in the treatment of patients with eating disorders across the diagnostic spectrum in both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings. In her early career post-fellowship, as a physician at a respected New York City private practice, her expertise in caring for patients with eating disorders proved invaluable. Dr. Fridy has since founded Tribeca Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine to provide her patients with personalized, highly-attentive, and comprehensive medical, as well as emotional, care – the optimal strategy to prevent and/or overcome an eating disorder.

While Dr. Fridy’s treatment approach is firmly rooted in medicine, she values a multidisciplinary approach to caring for patients with eating disorders. She collaborates closely with an extensive network of expert eating disorder professionals, including psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, and other specialized consultants throughout New York City and the surrounding areas, as well as country wide. Furthermore, Dr. Fridy has established relationships with numerous treatment programs across the United States should a higher level of care be deemed appropriate, including residential programs.

Even the deepest desire to get well can seem nearly impossible in the face of an eating disorder. Dr. Fridy understands this, and she is prepared to empathically work hand-in-hand with you and your loved ones to get you well.
